APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING A CHARACTER MESSAGE WITH MESSAGE SENDER'S FEELINGS IN THE HANDY TERMINAL

A method and an apparatus for transmitting/receiving a text message including user's feeling in a mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to express his intention and feelings through text information and voice information so that a recipient can understand the feeling of the message sender. A mobile terminal receives text information from a user and creates a text message(S201). The mobile terminal checks whether a select key for expressing the user's feeling is inputted(S203). When the select key is inputted, the mobile terminal displays types of sound effects that can be selected for expressing the user's feeling(S205). The user selects one or more of the sound effects for expressing his feelings and the mobile terminal selects one or more of the feeling-expressing sound effects corresponding to a user request(S207). The mobile terminal combines the selected feeling-expressing sound effects and outputs pre-listening together with the created text message(S209). The mobile terminal checks whether the user inputs a setting confirmation key with respect to the combination of the feeling-expressing sound effects after pre-listening them(S211). When the setting confirmation key is inputted, the mobile terminal attaches selected information of the selected feeling-expressing sound effects together with the text information of the text message to a text message data format(S213). The setting of the user's feeling-expressing sound effects with respect to the created text message is completed and the text message including the feeling-expressing sound effect select information is transmitted(S215).
