A method for changing channels in a digital television is provided to change a channel through a dynamic channel map by genres which is dynamically updated according to currently-broadcasted latest broadcasting information based on SI(Service Information), thereby easily searching and changing channels of a desired genre. A method for changing channels in a digital television comprises the following steps of: receiving and storing SI(Service Information) transmitted together with a digital broadcasting signal(S14); configuring a dynamic channel map which is classified by arbitrarily-designated genres according to the SI and updated according as the SI is changed(S16); fetching and displaying the dynamic channel map during input of an arbitrary key, and displaying the update when the dynamic channel map is updated(S20); and changing a channel into a selected channel if the arbitrary channel is selected in the dynamic channel map(S28).
