A data storage device, and a service and a method for an information providing service using the same are provided to reduce burden for constructing, developing, and operating a service by storing data according to a download/upload request of a user terminal at an external data storage device without storing the data at an information providing device. A data storage device(300) receives the download request including authentication information and a data storage address from the user terminal(100), performs the first authentication based on the authentication information, and provides first data of the data storage device to the user terminal if the first authentication is successful. The information providing device(200) uploads the first data by performing the second authentication for connecting to the data storage device, receives the authentication information corresponding to the second authentication and the data storage address corresponding to upload from the data storage device, and provides the received information to the user terminal.
