A gas wiping apparatus is provided to prevent contamination of the gas wiping nozzle and the principal components due to scattering of zinc generated from the hot dip galvanizing process by treating surfaces of a gas wiping nozzle and principal components. In a gas wiping apparatus(30) for a hot dip galvanizing line, comprising a gas wiping nozzle part(32), the gas wiping apparatus is characterized in that: a zinc adhesion preventing layer(37) with a surface roughness of not more than 0.5 um is formed on the gas wiping nozzle part; and the zinc adhesion preventing layer is formed by coating a material selected from a nitride-based material and a carbide-based high hardness ceramic material. The gas wiping apparatus further comprises a baffle plate(34) and edge rolls(35) installed at both edge portions of a steel sheet(1), and the zinc adhesion preventing layer is additionally formed on a surface of at least one of the baffle plate and edge rolls.
