The circular knitting machine, with rotary cams and spool carriers, has a new moving, motor (III) -driven base (I), rotating about an axis (A-B). The knitting frame is fixed to the base, and turns with it. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding method, allowing spool exchange without stopping the knitting frame for certain articles. Two knitting programs are provided for the same article, each using different guide threads, working in alternating colors. Preferred features: The system of electrical brushes (VI), and tracks (VII) pass electricity at various voltages (up to 220V or 380V) from the fixed computer control system (IX) to units fixed on the frame, and to the motor rotating with the frame. The base turns against the direction of the spool carrier, at the same speed. This cancels out the two circular motions and immobilizes the spool carrier, without stopping either the thread feed or the knitting. The control of the motor on the moving base, includes an interrupter which allows only the base to be stopped, whilst continuing knitting in a conventional manner. Base motor speed control, allows the static working position to be adjusted, also presenting each bobbin for doubling or change, in a convenient position. The base is wide enough for installation of an automatic product reel (XI) taking electric current from a socket provided on the base.
