The unit has a filter element receiving chamber for receiving an auxiliary material that concedes raw gas. An auxiliary material receptacle receives the auxiliary material that concedes the raw gas, where the raw gas passes through a filter element (172). A partition wall separates the receiving chamber from a flow chamber (128) of a wet paint overspray separating device (126), where the raw gas flow is flown through the flow chamber before entering into the unit. The raw gas flow from the flow chamber enters into the unit through an inlet opening. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for separating a wet paint overspray from a raw gas flow containing overspray particle (2) a method for producing a device for separating wet paint overspray from a raw gas flow containing overspray particle.
