PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To property protect an occupant according to impact scales by operating a gas generation means only when the impact scales are middle scales and large scales without operating the gas generation means when the impact scales are small scales and increasing gas generation amount as the impact scales are larger. SOLUTION: An occupant protective device has an acceleration sensor 1. A control circuit 2 inputs an acceleration signal generated by the acceleration sensor 1. An inflater 3 is operated by the control circuit 2. The protective device is provided with an airbag 4 expanding by gas of the inflater 3. The inflator 3 is constituted of two inflators of a first inflator 3a and a second inflator 3b, but the inflator 3 may be constituted of three or more inflators or may be constituted of one inflator capable of controlling gas generation amount. In the case of a plurality of inflators, delicate expansion speed of the airbag 4 can be selected by making each gas generation amount different and further properly selecting an ignition order. Thus, the impact scale is exactly judged and an occupant can be properly protected. |
