PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor core isolation cooling system for a boiling water reactor, which has a simple structure and is capable of suppressing thermal stratification of cooling water in a pressure suppression pool even when no AC power is available due to station blackout or the like.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a reactor core isolation cooling system 100 for a boiling water reactor having a reactor pressure vessel 1 and a reactor containment vessel 2 with a wet well 5 having a pressure suppression pool 3 for storing cooling water c1 formed therein, where the wet well 5 has a liquid phase space A and a gas phase space B formed therein and is provided with; spray nozzles 6 for spraying the cooling water c1 into the gas phase space B; first piping 71 that connects the spray nozzles 6 and the pressure suppression pool 3; second piping 72 that connects the reactor pressure vessel 1 and the pressure suppression pool 3; a pump-drive turbine 8 provided midway through the second piping 72; and a pump 9 that is driven by the pump-drive turbine 8 and provided midway through the first piping 71.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
