The invention relates to a workpiece holding device having a cardanic device (200) for receiving a workpiece holder, which holder can be pivoted about two cardanic axes (212, 222) running perpendicularly to one another, by means of the cardanic device. The cardanic device has a first cardanic holder (210) which can be pivoted relative to a bearing device (120) of the workpiece holding device about a first cardanic axis (212) and which supports a second cardanic holder (220) that can be pivoted relative to the first cardanic holder (210) about a second cardanic axis (222) oriented perpendicularly to the first cardanic axis.
