PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide preparation of transformants having significantly improved glucaric acid productivity and efficient methods for producing glucaric acid using the transformants.SOLUTION: Genetic recombination or mutation that elicits hyperproduction or activation of functional inositol monophosphatase is introduced in a transformant carrying an inositol-1-phosphate synthetase gene, an inositol monophosphatase gene, a myoinositol oxygenase gene and a uronate dehydrogenase gene.SELECTED DRAWING: None
