PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder capable of interrupting recording motion on recording papers, when a paper supplying part is short of the recording papers, and quickly resuming the recording motion with a simple operation. SOLUTION: The recorder is provided with a manual paper supplying part 16 for supplying a manually fed paper on a manual feeding tray, a cut sheet supplying part 15 for supplying cut sheets in a paper feeding cassette and a recording part 17. During the recording motion of the recording part 17 using the manually fed paper, the running out of the manually fed papers is detected by a manually fed paper sensor 65 and a CPU 82. When the supply of the manually fed paper is detected within a specified time after the running out of the manually fed papers is detected, the recording motion on the manually fed paper is resumed. When the supply of the manually fed paper is not detected within the specified time, the cut paper is supplied to the recording part 17 from the cut paper supplying part 15, to resume the recording motion. |
