PURPOSE:To prevent a step-out trouble from occurring and enable accurate line feeding, by a method wherein when stopping a line-feeding motor, a surplus of one pulse is set so that a rotor is stopped at a position advanced by one- phase amount from the desired stopping position. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that the desired stopping position for the rotor 6 is position B. When the rotor is stopped at position B, it may be returned to position D under the gravitational force or elasticity of a printing paper. If the motor is operated under this condition, the rotor is attracted to position E corresponding to a 3-4 phase, whereby it is rotated in the direction of an arrow (a), resulting in step-out. When a surplus of one pulse is set in stopping the rotor so that the rotor is stopped at position A advanced by a one-phase amount from the desired position B, even if the rotor is slightly returned by the gravitational force or elasticity of the paper in the absence of an electrical holding force, the nearest 3-4 phase position in the subsequent excitation will be again position B and will rarely be position E. Accordingly, printing can be started at the correct line. |
