PURPOSE:To recognize accurately the mounting state of a memory card on a mother board by providing a changeover circuit connecting each read/write line of a storage section to each corresponding data line at the read/write mode and connecting a mounted signal line to one of data lines at the mounting information mode. CONSTITUTION:In checking the mounting state of a memory card on the mother board, a changeover circuit 130 is set to the mounting information mode. When the changeover circuit 130 is set to the mounting information mode, the mounting signal line 122 is connected on one of data lines 1230-123m. Since a mounting information signal is given to the mounting signal line 122 via the data line 1230, the mother board detects the presence of the mounting information signal of the data line connected to the data line 1230 so as to recognize the mounting state of the memory card.
