PURPOSE:To make the roller peripheral speed constant and to prevent occurrence of seizures or scratches even if sectional sizes are varied by installing flat rollers carrying a rolled stock alternately tilted in a V-shaped position in the front and rear of a rolling mill and to make a height of the pass line changeable. CONSTITUTION:Every rollers 3a composing a roller table 3 are alternately changed their direction one by one so as to tilt at a tilting angle to the passing horizontal plane of a stock to be rolled for forming a V shape by their upper surface. The pass line height of the roller table 3 is changeable sequentially toward the rolling mill 4 using a lifter 10. The stock is centered and carried because the stock is carried along the pass line for which a V shape is formed by each receiving plane of the rollers 3a. Centering of the level center of the stock is also performed easily by the lifter 10. Therefore, a speed of the stock is always kept at constant regardless of sectional sizes and the peripheral speeds of the rolling roll and the roller are well matched, so that slips between the stock and the roller are eliminated.
