PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate signal with a smaller detection error corresponding to the angular velocity by making a vibrating plate to vibrate normally in the thickness direction which is provided on a tuning fork, and rotating the device making the axis of a rod as the center. CONSTITUTION:A twist detector 3 and the tuning fork are arranged at the center part of the rod 5 provided along a Z-axis. The tuning fork is furnished with the vibrating plate 15 which is formed with a U-shape in the manner of bending a thin- sheet stated metal plate, and the vibrating plate 15 is supported with the rod 5 penetrating through the center part. When the vibrating plate 15 provided in the tuning fork is made to vibrate normally in the thickness direction and the device is rotated making the axis of the rod 5, i.e. Z-axis as the center, a Coriolis' force is exerted to the vibrating plate 15 in the axis direction orthogonally with the axis of the vibration in accordance with the angular velocity of the vibrating plate 15 at that time. As this force is exerted in the direction to make the tuning fork to move rotationally around the axis of the rod 5, the tuning fork is vibrated in the direction to rotate against the rod 5. The accurate signal corresponding to the angular velocity of the device is obtained accordingly by detecting the twisting force to exert between the rod 5 and the vibrating plate 15. |
