PURPOSE:To reduce the number of constituent parts by providing a scanning optical deflector that allows a laser beam to scan by an electro-optical effect on an optical path of the laser beam and a f-theta correcting optical deflector that corrects the f-theta characteristic of the laser beam scanned by the optical deflector by the electrical and optical effect. CONSTITUTION:A collimator lens 6 focusing the laser beam, the scanning optical deflector 3 scanning the image carrier 2 with the laser beam by electro-optical effect and the f-theta correcting beam deflector 4 correcting a f-theta characteristic of the laser beam scanned by the beam deflector 3 are provided on an optical path from a laser diode 5 to an image carrier 2. An adequate voltage matching respective timings is impressed on the scanning beam deflector 3 and the f-theta correcting beam deflector 4. Therefore, the image carrier 2 is scanned with the laser beam 1 having constant travel speed. Consequently, since a cylindrical lens and a polygon mirror, etc., are eliminated, assembly and stability are enhanced to improve the reliability of the optical system. |
