PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the portable terminal equipment by which a degree of a troublesome operation of radio data transmission is reduced and accurate data transmission is conducted. SOLUTION: The user enters a telephone number from a data entry section 101 to make a data transmission processing operation, a communication program stored in a memory 102 is called. A CPU 104 based on the communication program outputs processing data stored in a RAM in the CPU 104 and control data to control a data adaptor 107 and a portable telephone set 108 to an optical communication section 105. The optical communication section 105 transfers the processing data and the control data to an optical communication unit 106 by means of an infrared ray (IrDA). The data adaptor 107 modulates the processing data based on the control data transferred in terms of the infrared ray and transfers the modulated data to the portable telephone set 108. The portable telephone set 108 makes a call based on the control data and sends the modulated processing data.
