A process for the flux-free coating, impregnation and soldering of metallic and nonmetallic materials, of which one is a material to be wetted and the other is a wetting material, in which the material to be wetted and the wetting material are first heated in vacuo or in a reducing atmosphere and the wetting material is subsequently applied to (brought onto) the material to be wetted, is carried out in such a way that the deoxidation and the surface conditioning are carried out separated in space and time from the wetting.
