PURPOSE:To impart a fresh magenta color and to develop excellent color reproducibility at the time of the mixing with a yellow dye and a cyan dye by using a specific bistricyanostyrenic dye in sublimation type thermal transfer recording. CONSTITUTION:A dye to be used is represented by formula (wherein R1 and R2 may be same or different and are a hydrogen atom, a substituted or non- substituted alkyl group or an aryl group or an atom or an atomic group forming a 5- or 6-membered ring along with X, R3 and R4 may be same or different and are an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or an aryl group, R5 is an electron withdrawing group, Y is a divalent bonding group, X is a hydrogen atom, a forming atom or an atomic group and m and n is 1 or 2). The dye is dissolved or finely pulverized in a solvent along with a binder using a ball mill to prepare ink. In a transfer method, the ink is applied to a proper substrate using a bar coater to prepare a transfer sheet which is, in turn, superposed on a material to be recorded and subsequently heated from the back surface thereof by a heating element. |
