PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe having a sound matching layer, wherein the increasing of sensitivity by the reduction of a propagation loss, and also, the facilitation of the manufacture, and the reduction of costs by the reduction of manhours are possible. SOLUTION: As a first sound matching layer 2 and a second sound matching layer 3 which are provided on the front surface of an oscillator 1, e.g. a layer made of an epoxy resin in which tungasten powder is mixed in, wherein the thickness is adjusted so that it may become the total of the thicknesses of the first and second sound matching layers, and the tungasten powder is separated into two layers by a precipitation or a centrifugal separation, and the tungasten precipitated part is made the first sound matching layer 2, and the supernatant part after the precipitation is made the second sound matching layer 3, is used. |
