The structure is characterised in that it comprises a rigid bearing framework (1) forming a floor, a plurality of piles (2) articulated on the bearing framework and at the periphery thereof by means of connection pieces which can be adjusted to the unevenness of the ground, and an envelope (3) of compact shape supported by the bearing framework and surrounding the latter in such a way as to enclose the said connection pieces. In order to form a polar structure mounted on the snow, the envelope, of spherical shape, can be made of wood and connected to the bearing framework (1) by connection pieces permitting the displacements of the envelope which are caused by the thermal stresses. <IMAGE>
