<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the size of the whole panel by providing a peripheral and a film transistor(TR) to one driving circuit sandwiching a liquid crystal display area and also providing an electrostatic capacitance which is larger than a picture element capacitance to the driving circuit on the opposite side. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal display area 1 where picture element thin film transistors (picture element TFT) provided nearby intersections of scanning and signal lines and picture element capacitances are arranged in matrix and the driving circuit 2 which controls the liquid crystal display area 1 and is arranged sandwiching the liquid crystal display area 1 are formed on the same transparent substrate. The respective signal lines 6 are connected to the picture element TFTs and driving circuit 2. The driving circuit 2 controls a scanning voltage or video signal voltage to the scanning lines or signal lines. The film TFT (peripheral TFT) 3 is composed of electrostatic capacitances 4 and 5. The electrostatic capacitance 5 is connected to the output side of the peripheral TFT 3 and the electrostatic capacitance 4 is connected to the driving circuit 2 arranged on the opposite side sandwiching the liquid crystal display area 1 by the signal lines 6. Consequently, the liquid crystal display area is of the same size and the driving circuit areas can be made narrow.</p> |
