Cyanoacrylate adhesive compositions

An alpha -cyanoacrylate adhesive composition which comprises an alpha -cyanoacrylate; a phthalic acid ester represented by the following formula Ä1Ü: <CHEM> wherein R1 and R2 are each independently a C1-20 alkyl, C2-10 alkenyl, C1-10 alkoxy-C1-10 alkyl or C3-10 cycloalkyl group or an aralkyl group in which the alkyl part contains 1 to 5 carbon atoms; and an elastomer, gives greatly improved flexibility and brittleness to the cured adhesive without lowering fast-curing property and bonding strength, and is particularly excellent in maintaining flexibility.
