POLYVINYL ALCOHOL-BASED MAGNETIC POLYMER PARTICLES, METHODS FOR THEIR PREPARATION AND THEIR USE

The invention concerns magnetic pearl-shaped PVA carriers which are produced by suspension of a polymer phase containing magnetic colloids in an organic phase containing a special emulsifier mixture. Particles which have a grain size of 1 - 8 .mu.m and can bond ligands chemically are obtained. The carriers can be used for isolating and detecting biomolecules, cells, antibodies and nucleic acids.
