The staff plate which forms a component of a partition wall or ceiling has two large opposite surfaces (2,3) forming the visible and non visible surfaces of the ceiling. On two of its opposite edges (10,11) is an edge zone of smaller thickness than the rest of the plate. This zone forms a support surface (12) parallel to the large faces directed toward the same side of the visible surface.
