PURPOSE: A device for detecting opening of a door of a microwave oven is provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by detecting the opening of the door through a monitor switch integrated with a door opening sensing switch. CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting opening of the door of the microwave oven includes a monitor switch(107) and a safety switch(108). The monitor switch selectively provides a magnetron(114), a cavity lamp(109), a tray motor(110) and a fan motor(111) with a common AC power source through contact points(105,106) of first and second relays(104b, 104c) when the door is shut and selectively provides a control assembly(104) with the common AC power source input through a door opening detecting switch(103) when the door is opened.
