PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply produce a taxane diterpene that is useful as a therapeutic agent for ovarian cancer, mammary cancer, lung cancer or the like by culturing the cells or tissue of a plant that can produce the taxane diterpene in a culture medium including a specific jasmonic acid. SOLUTION: Cells or tissues of a plant producing a taxane diterpene, for example, Taxus brevifolia NUTT are cultured in the presence of a jasmonic acid derivative represented by formula I [X is O, S, NH; R is formula II (R1 and R2 are each H, OH, 1-6C alkyl; R3 is H, a 1-6C alkyl; an aryl which may be substituted, an arylalkyl which may be substituted; n is an integer of 1-5)], or formula III (R4 and R5 are each identical to R1; y is an integer of 1-5) and the objective taxane diterpene is collected from the resultant culture mixture. This taxane diterpene is useful as a therapeutic agent for ovarian cancer, mammary cancer, lung cancer or the like.
