POSITION MEASURING SYSTEM AND VEHICLE UTILIZING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire real-time and high-precision position information relatively rarely receiving the effect of a building or the like at any point on the ground and to achieve the high-level travel support and travel control of a vehicle based on the position information. SOLUTION: Radio waves of the position information and time information of ground stations are transmitted to flying bodies existing in the sky from four or more ground fixed stations having accurately known positions. Three or more flying bodies having clocks and existing in the sky measure their real- time positions by receiving signals from the ground fixed stations and transmit the results together with the time to the ground side. A position measuring device provided at a ground mobile station measures its real-time position based on the data of its clock by receiving signals from the flying bodies in the sky. The travel support and travel control of the vehicle are conducted based on the position measurement.
