<p>A generally bone-shaped pet chew toy (11) has an elongated body member with a bulbous knob (13 or 15) at each end. A screw rod (21) is positioned along an axis of the body member (11) and affixed to an associated knob (13 or 15). A chewable food product (17) having a non-circular cross-section corresponding to the shape of the cavity is threaded onto the screw rod (21) and is compatible with a threaded internal bore (19) of the food product (17). When the two opposing knobs (13 or 15) are rotated with respect to each other the screw rod (21) is turned. Because the chew product (17) is prevented from turning along with the screw rod (21), this rotation advances or draws-in the formed chew product (17) so that it may project from an opening in one end of the body member (11).</p> |
