The invention concerns a woven terry loop fabric wherein is provided in a yarn a mixture of fibres with perennial (hence non-diffusing) antibacterial (or other ) activity with hydrophilic fibres. The selected percentage and the type of fibres with antibacterial (or other) activity constitute points which enable proper balance between the antibacterial or fungicidal function (or other activity) and the wiping function. Thus, for example, the kinetics of bacterial contamination on terry cloths, such as towels or bathrobes, absorbent slip covers, and the like can be efficiently controlled. |
