The Universal EEG cap (30) is made of a net horizontally (10) and vertically (9) placed foam rubber strings, which are tied up by plastic round holders with holes (8). By passing the rubber through the round holders, segments are made, on which we can easily determine the positions of the holders with electrodes (40), which are twenty one, by the International 10-20 system. On the lateral sides of the cap, the rubber strings are fixed in the lateral holders with five holes (16), after which the rubber strings are pulled through the holes on the Velcro® tape holder (17). The Velcro® tape (14 and 15) fixes the cap on the patient's head, either under the chin or by a belt. Out of every electrode holder comes a contact wire (11), which is pulled through the tubes for the wire on the upper part of the holder. In that way, the wires do not stick out, they do not interfere inbetween and the cap looks very tidy. The wires are then pulled through a casing and they make a multi-cord cable finishing with a 25-pin connector. The cap is made in six different sizes, in order to cover a wide range of head circumferences from children to adults, satisfying the International 10-20 system.
|
