A process and device are disclosed for rolling a metal strip (1) in a hot-rolling mill train. A loop lifter (10) is arranged between the two roll stands (3, 4) of the hot-rolling mill train and the roll stand (4) arranged after the loop lifter (10) is adjusted depending on the position of the loop lifter (10).
