PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a filter material having excellent heat resistance at high temp. for a long time and having dust flow-off property by using a polycyanoarylether fiber by specified wt.% or more of the web or the whole weight of the web and a supporting member. SOLUTION: This filter material is used to form a filter cloth face of a filter and consists of a web, and if necessary, a supporting member for the web. The filter material contains a polycyanoarylether fiber by >=5 wt.%, preferably 5 to about 70 wt.%, and more preferably about 10 to about 50 wt.% of the web or the whole weight of the web and the supporting member. The filter material shows <=2.5% dry heat shrinkage at 230 deg.C and <=1.5% dry heat creeping rate at 230 deg.. Thereby, this material can be used even under severe use conditions such as in an atmosphere at about >=200 deg.C in a large incineration furnace for a long time without exchanging filters for about one year. Further, the filter material shows improved dust flow-off property. |
