<p>Method of detecting the position of road markings and corresponding system. The invention pertains to a method of detecting the position of road markings with the aid of a succession of digital images comprising pixels, taken in the course of the movement of a motor vehicle. Said method comprises for each image an alternation between a first phase termed the learning phase comprising a determination (step 3) on a first set of successive digital images, of a mean position of said markings, and a second phase termed the tracking phase, comprising a determination (step 23) on a second set of successive digital images, of the position of said markings on the basis of said mean position determined in the course of the learning phase, each phase being performed while the value taken by a end-of-phase criterion does not exceed a threshold associated with the relevant phase. Said end-of-phase criterion is calculated as a function of the total number of pixels belonging to said markings, computed over a chosen number of successive digital images.</p> |
