A method for stabilizing the temperature of stabilizer and electronic ballast can operate the high pressure discharge lamp by controlling the switching operation of the inverter unit with the current controller. The temperature detection part(27) detects the deionized water temperature value of the stabilizer through the temperature sensor. The microprocessor(28) is connected to the line connecting the electric wave rectifying section and inverter unit. The microprocessor controls to authorize the fixed drive power in the inverter unit. The microprocessor produces the correction value for lowering the indoor temperature. The current controller(29) controls the switching operation of the inverter part. The display unit(30) indicates temperature and overheat state of stabilizer when microprocessor authorizes the correction value in the current controller.
