PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling-fan control means which solves the various problems in an electrophotographic image forming device capable of recording (printing) images on both sides of recording paper, such as so-called toner blocking, cleaning failure due to an increase in the temperature of a cleaner blade, and degradation of reliability due to increases of the temperatures of a motor and an electronic circuit, and which cools a scanner unit and a process cartridge without consuming excessive current when the images are formed on both the sides. SOLUTION: The cooling fan 17 for cooling the process cartridge 21 having a developing unit 16 is set in the main body of the image forming device. Control is exerted such that in the case specified conditions are satisfied when images are formed on both the sides, the fan is driven under specific rotation conditions, when images are formed on one side, it is driven under decelerated rotation conditions, and when the device stands ready, the fan is stopped. |
