If the data transferred via the first user plane connection satisfies a trigger condition, the apparatus is configured to initiate a handover procedure of transferring the user equipment to a second user plane connection in a second radio access network. |

1. A method of wireless communication utilizing a first radio access network and a second radio access network, wherein the second radio access network has a higher peak data rate than that of the first radio access network, comprising:
transferring data at a network controller for a user equipment via a first user plane connection in the first radio access network; and if the data transferred via the first user plane connection satisfies a trigger condition, moving, in a handover procedure, the user equipment to a second user plane connection in the second radio access network, wherein the trigger condition is satisfied if an amount of data transferred via the first user plane connection exceeds a predetermined volume of data during a predetermined period of time, and wherein the handover procedure comprises relaying a request from the user equipment to a remote server in data communication with the user equipment, to stop sending data to the user equipment via the first user plane connection, and wherein the request comprises a message corresponding to a receive window size. |
