A method for changing allotropic forms of substances comprising a dynamical impact on a source substance specimen 7 positioned between at least two bodies 4 and 6 by heating and pressure generated by compression of the named source substance specimen 7 initiated by collision of the named bodies 4, 6, the mass of the bodies and collision velocity being selected on the basis of compression forces and heating temperatures of the named source substance specimen 7 required to provide conditions for obtaining in the specimen the necessary temperatures and pressures for fulfillment of phase transitions of allotropic forms of the substance, characterised in that at least one of the named bodies 4 is imparted a mechanical impulse of translatory motion in the space by means of an electromagnetic rail accelerator 5. An electromagnetic inertial system including at least one electromagnetic rail accelerator 5, at least one target 6, at least one accelerated body 4 and at least one source specimen 7 positioned between the named accelerated body 4 and the named target 6, performing dynamical compression and heating of source specimen 7 by indentation of the accelerated body 4 into the target 6, characterised in that the selected values of the source specimen 7 compression and heating parameters are achieved by imparting a selected velocity of translational motion to the accelerated body 4 by means of acceleration of the latter in the electromagnetic rail accelerator 5. |
