PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a prepared unshaped refractory in which a large amount of metal fibers having >=20 mm and <=35 mm length, >=0.07 mm<2> and <=0.5 mm<2> sectional area are dispersed by simple mixing method so as to extremely improve heat-resistant spalling resistance, impact resistance and peeling resistance of prepared unshaped refractory. SOLUTION: This prepared unshaped refractory comprises >=1.0 vol.% and <=3.5 vol.% of metal fibers (A) having >=20 mm and <=35 mm length, >=0.07 mm<2> and <=0.5 mm<2> sectional area in the prepared unshaped refractory and metal fibers (B) having >=10 mm and <20 mm length, >=0.07 mm<2> and <=0.5 mm<2> sectional area in an amount of >=1/5 (volume ratio) to the metal fibers (A) and <=1.5 vol.% in the prepared unshaped refractory. The total amount of the whole metal fibers is >=1.2 vol.% and <=4.5 vol.% in the prepared unshaped refractory. |
