PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce crosstalk between the respective channels and to improve frequency characteristic. SOLUTION: An acoustic matching layer 8 of an ultrasonic probe is so constructed that acoustic characteristic is anisotropic between the direction of striking ultrasonic waves from vibrator elements 1, 1... and the direction orthogonal to the ultrasonic wave striking direction. Thus, crosstalk between the respective channels of the vibrator elements 1, 1... can be reduced, and the frequency characteristic can be improved. Accordingly, the image quality of the obtained ultrasonic image can be improved. |
