Near the spinneret of an extruder at least 2 differently-coloured plastics masses are united so that only their mutual boundary surfaces mix. The product is made from the extruded sheet. Preferably, one mass is discontinuously added to the other, which flows continuously. One mass goes to the main extruder channel and the other to auxiliary channels which can be controlled from the spinneret. Apparatus is described.
