In a trimmer capacitor in which the fixed electrode is a metallic coating 61 on tubular dielectric 60 and the moving electrode is a conductive piston 41 threaded at 40 to engage adjusting screw 29, rotational movement of the piston is prevented by a flat, U-shaped member 22 fixed to, or integral with support bushing 20, and slid into slots 42, 43 in the threaded portion 40 of the piston, and screw 29 is fixed at either end to prevent axial movement. The head end of the screw engages a nylon ring 33 over which the end 25 of support bushing 20 is clinched, and the other end sits in a conical depression 27 in member 22. Threaded washer 51, slotted to accommodate member 22, is screwed on to screw 29 compressing spring 50 and establishing the torque required to rotate the screw. C-clip 55 provides an end stop for movement to the right. |
