摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion device, which can raise simultaneously the photoelectric conversion efficiencies of both of wet cells and solar cells. SOLUTION: Wet cells 22 constituted of a photocatalyst are housed in a case 24 at an angle of roughly 45 deg. to solar cells 10 and the solar cells 10 are provided on the side surface parts of the case 24, which correspond to the cells 22 in the case 24. The interior of the case 24 is partitioned by a salt bridge 26, room, which houses the cells 22, is filled with an NaOH aqueous solution, a platinum electrode 28 connected with the cells 22 through an external circuit is provided in the other room and the other room is filled with an H2 SO4 aqueous solution. When light 42 is made incident in the cells 22, short-wavelength side light is absorbed here, the NaOH aqueous solution is decomposed on the surfaces of the cells 22, oxygen gas is generated, the H2 SO4 aqueous solution is decomposed on the surface of the electrode 28 and hydrogen gas is generated. Moreover, long-wavelength side light is reflected on the surfaces of the cells 22 and is made incident in the cells 10 and power is generated.
