PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve total energy efficiency including fuel consumption at the time of operation and minimize load onto an environment, by fitting a gasoline engine and a power source for a motor to drive an automobile using the motor at the time of starting, and switching it to a gasoline engine when speed has reached a prescribed value. SOLUTION: When a key switch 7 is turned on, a switching signal is outputted to a clutch 22 by a controller 8, and the clutch 22 is switched so that the rotational force of a motor 2 may be transmitted to a wheel 3. When an accelerator pedal 10 is depressed, a driving signal is outputted to the motor 2 to start an automobile. The controller 8, when a speedometer 26 indicates a prescribed value, preferably 20 km, transmits the rotational force of the gasoline engine 1 to the wheel 3 through the clutch 22 to drive the automobile. It is thus possible to emit little harmful substance at the time of starting and improve fuel efficiency by switching to the gasoline engine when the torque of the motor is constant. |
