1282434 Valves ACF INDUSTRIES Inc 17 Oct 1969 [12 Nov 1968] 51032/69 Heading F2V The open and closed positions of a valve, particularly a rectilinearly reciprocatable gate valve, are indicated by electrical circuit means including two magnetically actuatable switches responsive to the movement of the valve member or gate. In one embodiment as shown the gate 18 carries permanent magnets 98 housed between non-magnetic blocks. A tubular switch assembly 104 with reed switches 106, 108 is housed in a protecting sleeve 102 fixed to the valve body 12 and which enters a bore in the gate. In modifications the magnets 98 are replaced by a ring magnet (152) housed in the gate, or a wand (134) carried by the gate extends sealingly out of the valve body and enters a bore in a housing (120) containing the tubular switch assembly, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown). |
