POLYOLEFIN FIBER AND IT'S MAKING METHOD

Polyolefin foamed fibres consist of composite fibres having single fibre fineness 0.5-30 denier and fibre strength 1.5-5.0g/d. Only a composite component which predominantly forms the surface of the compsosite fibres along the fibre axis direction is foamed and are part of the resulting foamed cells are burst open on the fibre surface. The foamed fibres may be crimped or non-crimped monofilaments. They may be used as short fibres of dry nonwoven fabrics with crimp number 5-15 crimps/inch and fibre lengh 30-180 mm; or as chopped strands for paper making which are non-crimped with fibre lengh 1-20 mm.
