PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate data input for various applications that a small-sized portable information terminal has. SOLUTION: A portable information terminal 2 having an image input function 3, a communication function 4, and an application program executing function 5 and a server 8 are provided wherein digital image data inputted by the image input function 3 are sent from the terminal 2 to the server 8, which performs data processing for the received digital image data to convert them into text data having specific properties and also performs conversion to a data format corresponding to an application program run on the terminal 2 and sends the data back to the terminal, so that management data of the application program can automatically be registered only by performing operation for image input. |
