A silage press or compression device for top removal millers for use in a circular tall or sunken silo, having a nulling or cutting chain situated between the central offtake pipe and the silo wall to remove layers of the compressed silage, and mounted on at least two support arms at right angles to one another having height adjustable support wheels and recoil guard rollers as well as a motor driven drive roller, is constructed such that the cutter chain (7) is premounted in a silage press device.
