A first diode and a first capacitor in series are connected across each transistor gate (T1 etc) of the bridge-type state converter. The protection circuit has a second capacitor (C11 etc) in series with a second diode (D11 etc) across each of the bridge's four transistor gates (T1 etc). The second diode is connected in the transistor's conduction direction. Each transistor has an antiparallel coasting diode (D1 etc). One plate of the second capacitor is connected to one supply pole (coupled to its transistor) and the other plate is connected via a resistor (R11 etc) to the other supply pole.
