The adaptive digital filter is designed to compensate the transfer of a line of transmission comprising M coefficients. To increase the speed of convergence, and reduce the length of the acquisition phase, during which test sequences are transmitted on the line, the adaptation is broken down into successive stages. Each stage is associated with a part composed of M' filter coefficients. During each stage the adaptation of M' coefficients w.r.t. the error determined is effected by using only the M' coefficients. Increases are made in the value of M' until in the last stage M'=M.
|
